3hours/day

The formula

THE STORY

He wasn’t looking for a secret. He already knew what worked.

When John Rota joined Reside in December 2023, he had a good team. Twenty agents. 314 transactions a year. A solid business by any measure.

He wanted to build one of the top real estate organizations in Canada.

Most team leaders chasing that kind of goal start looking for the edge. The new system. The better lead source. The thing they haven’t tried yet.

John went the other direction. He committed to three things, and did them every day.

One hour prospecting with agents. One hour recruiting. One hour inspecting the database.

It’s not a complicated formula. Most team leaders who hear it nod along and then go back to doing twelve things inconsistently. John actually did it, for three straight years.

By 2024, the team had grown to 40 agents and 568 transactions. By 2025, 70 agents and 701 transactions. The Muve Team is now the #2 eXp team in all of Canada.

Nothing exotic built that. No pivot. No breakthrough moment. Just three hours a day, compounding for three years.

That’s the part most people don’t want to hear, and the part that actually explains the result.

THE NUMBERS

What three years of consistency actually produces.

The growth wasn’t a spike, it was a slope. Each year built on the last because the inputs never stopped. That’s what separates a good year from a compounding business.

WHAT HE BUILT WITH RESIDE

The fundamentals, executed without exception.

01

Daily prospecting alongside his agents

One hour every day, in the trenches with his team. Not managing from above, modeling the behavior. Agents who see their leader prospect don’t need to be convinced to prospect. The culture sets itself.

02

Daily recruiting that never stopped

Fifty new agents over three years. That doesn’t happen from occasional recruiting pushes. It happens from one hour a day, every day, building a pipeline that never runs dry. Consistency in recruiting is what made the transaction growth possible.

03

Daily database inspection that nothing slipped through

One hour a day reviewing the database kept the operation tight as the team tripled in size. Leads followed up. Opportunities tracked. Standards enforced. At 70 agents, that kind of visibility is what keeps a big team performing like a sharp one.

MOST TEAM LEADERS ALREADY KNOW WHAT THEY SHOULD BE DOING. THE QUESTION IS WHETHER THEY’RE DOING IT ALREADY.
